Navi... is the Smart authentic Navi System. Software and the device itself is designed by Garmin. When you buy the device your options are to get the maps predownloaded on to the device itself and / or you can always goto the Smart/Garmin Website and download just as many maps as you want (paid subscription I think).

What I did for my toy, is that it has an expansion card, and on that I load the maps I want... for ex. you can download the entire US and Canada on the card and you are done...

iPod
iPhone / iPod Integration Kitt.. that is the simplest of the mods... you plug the stuff in, set your car stereo system to "phone in" to "on" and that is it... everything else works...

Cruise Control
The parts are all standard the same for all Gen 2, just that with the system it comes a Software update that has to be downloaded via the Star System so that the Car computer board will recognize the Cruise control installed on the car... for that, MB likes to have your car VIN, as the updates are configured for your car and your car alone... if you want this, I will need that number (VIN) of your toy so that I can get a quote based on your car.

Bose Subwoofer
Which goes underneeth the driver's seat... best thing you will ever get... it completes the sound system on your toy... that one is an expensive one, cause just the Brabus people have something up their (you know what) : )

Cheers

Wiedermann
Mr. W
Again, good info. I'm surprised that this is available for the GEN II in Europe, but there is no mention of these in the USA smart Centers

I'll send you my VIN via PM.

As for the BOSE subwoofer... I already have one under the driver's seat. My smart came with the smart premium sound system.

Hi Mike...
I'm surprised too that these gadgets will work for the 451.
I haven't checked the smart forums, but I kinda prefer an OEM smart application rather than an add-on from a USA company. My friend Jonathan, who happens to be the President of the San Diego Section MBCA as well as smart Passion Cabriolet owner, is looking into cruise control and other smart features as well. I'm sure he'd be interested in this development.

Do you have links for the North American smart forums? I need to start checking these out to see what people are doing in terms of Euro smart accessories and options.

Mr. Saprissa!

No problem...I am always surprised how here the MB Centers don't have the info ever available... same was for my AMG when they told me it didn't have either the "spoiler" available or Partronik as an option, as you well saw on my C-AMG, in one of my trips I got the parts, and had all things installed (I even over the years have seen how every now and then someone will comment on my rear spoiler thread and say the rear deck spoiler is not authentic... lol... ahh people, don't know what they are talking about as I bought that directly while I was sitting at the MB dealer that time I think it was in Zurich --for the read deck spoiler).

If you send me the info, then gladly I make a few phone calls, and ask for the parts and costs. Without your VIN, I can't ask, as MB always want that part so they can give without a doubt the parts and any software updates that you might need, especially for the Cruise Control to work properly.

Cheers!

Yes, I remember the C32 spoiler story. I saw yours up close and I know for sure that that is the only true C32 AMG spoiler. Before the C-Class accessory sport spoiler or the C55 AMG spoiler came out. Many people doubt its existence but I know it exists.

Nice, will they ship to U.S.? I don't speak German other than what I learned watching Hogan's Heros. Is there a place in the U.S. that has it? I know Smartiesparts.com has them on their website but none in stock.

BTW, here are some pics of mine -

I've only seen the W451 armrests at this German site that Wiedermann linked:
www.berlin-tuning.com

€169.95 (euro)

I saw this one on eBay, however it's for the pre-2008 models (W450).

seller: swirek51 in Ontario, Canada "ArmRest Kingdom AutoAccessories"
starting bid price: $87.99 Winning bidder paid $92.00
He has some for Buy It Now price of $96.74 / £49.00 (GBP)

Hi Mr. Buellwinkle,

Sorry that takes me so long to answer, I've been out of this forum for years now and only been back since super Mr. Saprissa here finally bought another cool toy!.

To answer your question, YES, Berlin-Tunning will ship anywhere, even to another galaxy, provided that you pay the "shipping costs".

All the information you need is their website. I don't have any afiliation with Berlin-Tunning, so what I tell you is what I've seen and/or experienced from them.

If I am not mistaken, you can select your language at their website and read everything in English, just don't hold me to it, as I have never tried it (I, "unfortunately" read, write, speak either German or English).

Last, should you have any further questions, just write to Berlin-Tunning directly.

Cheers

Did you get yours at the smart Center of San Diego?

Your house looks awesome by the way? Do you live in Del Sur or Santa Luz?
Looking to buy a house up in those hills somewhere when I get back from Germany.

Thanks. Yes I bought mine at Smart Center San Diego It was an addon. The people I bought it from are selling the on eBay now I think.

I was planning on moving to Santa Luz - but I actually live in Del Mar Mesa (It's near the community Bouganvilla). Santa Luz is about 7 degrees hotter then the coastal area, ouch.

Wiedermann,

I tried buying it on their website but no luck. Took me an hour with google translation just to register, adding it to the cart is no problem but couldn't figure out how to take it further. I emailed them but never heard back after a few days. If anyone is going to to germany, can they pick it for me?

Thanks

Mr. Buellwinkle,

Again, my apologies that I don't come to the forum as often as I would like to. If I am not mistaken, you want the center arm rest for the Gen 2. Smart, actually quite nice toys those Smart cars are!.

In order to buy parts from those people, you have to open an account, just like opening a paypal or an Ebay account.

Once you have that, then you can place your order, just like in other websites. Moreover, pay with your credit card. Should you be displeased in any way with the purchase, you have more ways to get your money back, even directly through your Credit Card company.

I can get the parts to you, just purchase them and have them sent to you directly. I won't fly just to bring you the parts though : (, not even when I purchased the Spoiler for my AMG I flew with the part back... I had it shipped : )...however, as said before, that will cost you more time than anything, and often I hear that time is money...

Again, if you have no way to get the parts and you want me to get them for you, then send me your info, email, name, address, email address, so that I can get them for you.

Mr Saprissa,

as you can see on the berlin tunning website, as I mentioned to you before, the Cruise Control (Called "Tempomat" in German ok?) is now available, even at their website, looks and works exactly like the Gen. 1 Smart ForTwo Cruise Control does.

Cruise-Control

OK, I ordered the armrest via PayPal. What's odd is I chose 17 euro for shipping but the PayPal only charged me 169 euros for the armrest. I guess they'll email me if something is wrong.

Mr. Buellwinkle,

call those people direct!... in the contact section they have listed their telephone number, when they hear speak in english, trust me, they will speak english as well, just keep in mind, their native language is NOT English and you need a little patiente with their accent. Give them your order, name etc, and instead of waiting to see what's wrong with your order, tell them what you just said. If there is something missing, they will tell you right there, then you can take the corrective action and save time instead of waiting on them to tell you (they have plenty customers to deal with daily. If you sit and wait, you may be losing time that will just delay you getting what you want for your car)

Cheers!
