Can someone blow my mind? Rear end spider gears welded into a posi?

I want a posi. Do u think the rear could handle the power and what are the chances of snapping my axle? Pros and cons? To remove this ad, register today or login if you already are registered!

You can.. but is not the way...

The 100% locked diff is only & stritictly used in a drag races. the welded spider gears (100% locked) made impossible drive the car in a wet seasons IT's IMPOSSIBLE or in your first little turn you go front & kill you by self. not speak about the parts stress (axle, tires, bolts, homocinetical joins)

Just... Don't do it... "go for Quaife 25-45 % locked LSD"

A locked diff will drag the inside tire when you turn and you'll lose the rear in the rain even at 5-10 mph.

Phantomgrip LSD blocks(like kleemann lsd blocks) are $500 and they have been done before in a E55 and my E320. You can change springs out and heaviest duty springs will land you over 50% lock up while the lightest come in at 20-30%.

Do they make a Quaife for a 1999 E55? All I see are for the the 2000-2002 models.

Yha! it's the same 2.82 final drive for 98 to 02 i think! is the same diff

i recommend you if you use your car in a daily drive & wet streets or raining seasons go for a light locked % to not frie you tires & have a good traction (really the LSD is not very good for a wet streets cause you lose traction in one of the rear tyres when you turn) but is no bad in terms of performance & dry traction

Hope that help

So would it be worth it to put the Quaife in our 210's or just leave them stock?

I dont invest my money in a LSD because i don't put my car in a 1/4 mile races, the LSD help your traction in a dry days, but in a wet days is not very helpfull.. for this reason Merceses/AMG not use LSD factory.. BMW M power use LSD in all cars.. the lock % affect very much the driveability sens (you can use by daily drive the 35% locked with no issues).. if you want & have the money, you can... but really i think in exhaust, headers, pulleys, BMC's & some chip tuned before think in a LSD

Just my point
