The goal was to get the car out of the "body shop" and get it back into the owner's hands.. it's been out of commission for a while and he was starting to miss it..

I am still looking into suspension, power and interior upgrades to really make this a world-class conversion. I'd love to be able to do a forged 6.2L block with ported heads, cams and a S/C and slap it under the hood... who would suspect it was packing that kind of punch... lol ...

If adding a quad exhaust is feasible, why didn't MB have that from the factory?

Front arms are longer too, If you were to measure under the car from left brake rotor to the right brake rotor you would find that the Black Series is 88mm wider than the standard CLK 63 Cabrio. On top of that the stock wheels are 1 inch wider with a 10mm per side greater offset which when you add it all up totals 118 mm (about 4 inches overall, 2 per side) wider stance on the Black Series.

The fronts don't look so off, they can pull off the look, but they need to do something with the rears, spacers are not going to cut it, I think 8mm-10mm per wheel is as wide as you can safely go with a spacer. They can have an 10.5 or 11 inch wheel with an aggressive offset made which should do the job asthetically but not be 100% balance/perfomance wise, but it should be close.

It's still a damn good looking ride

Lots more work happening to this car.. Soon winter will be here in the cold north so once it goes into hibernation, we will resume on our modding path.

That is simply amazing!

What is the cost to do this conversion now that you have your feet wet having done it once?

any more word on this development? the next ride will be a '63', most likely a C63, but only when someone develops a kompressor kit. The current tuned 63s are not any faster than what I already have...needs boost!

Wow, I just wasted over an hour reading a 168+ posts plus a few other topics, but I still do not understand the VRP, Victor, Vadim and more importantly VRUS relationships.

Who is VRUS? That Victor guy? or Vadim? or someone else??? VRUS is the only one who seems banned. He's from the Toronto area, which is where I'm from.

More importantly, who the heck am I going to get now to make a CLK63 Cabriolet look like a Black Series in Toronto, Canada???

Any suggestions?

By the way, are you the guy with the White CLK63 Cab that was modded with Black Series parts?

I'm pretty sure that the body parts were all MB factory parts.

I can't comment on the other questions.

But I found some pics for you guys
