I think w/the proper design/they possibly could fit in a split configuration on either side of the HE like I described earlier, it would deff unlock more RAM-air HP @ speed.

Yeah the Vara I had on my C6 was great SOTP & Sound I drove it thru heavy rain NO problems, the manufacturer describes it being nearly impossible to hydrolock w/this design unless you were to drive the car the 1-1 1/2 foot of standing water.

It has to travel up the snout, then get thru the air filter. I'm not saying it's not possible but during my ownership of C6 I torture tested that Vararam (even drove it thru automatic car wash) NO - prob

I wish somebody would create a Vararam type of bottom feeder CAI for our V12 apps, split the feeders in half then route piping to the front area under bumper on either side of the Heat Exchanger...

Looks like this on C5 vettes, imagine it cut in half & supplying each side tubing to reach engine...

on C6 Vette, I had 1 & diff was notable....
Vararam worked excellent on my C6 Z06. Never had a problem with it and I saw the most gains compared to stock airbox and the Halltech Killer Bee cone style air filter.

I'm suprised one hasn't been made yet either, especially since most MB's have a ram-air style intake system. But I shouldn't comment as the 1/4 mile times are incredible! I wouldn't fiddle with this setup. Seems to be working better than we could have imagined.

Very true, I just have been thinking of this type of Ram-air sys ever since my C6..

VRP's results w/this app are outstanding

Way to much is being made of this, the reason the ram air works so well on the vette is because it's NA. On a turbo engine how much the filter flows is more important than placement.

That was actually a client's car, not mine, but unfortunately, neither of us will be going to MIR. In fact, that car was in Friday for new tires (thanks to me) and it is going into storage until I get a set of those intercoolers for it. He was all set to order the Renntech airboxes, but I told him to wait, I had something in mind. I didn't realize that my idea would show up and absolutely embarrass his car. Kind of funny video though, that was the owner standing in the grandstand, wondering who threw out the boat anchor.

The production units might flow a tad better than the prototypes on my car. We're learning many cool things in this testing phase.

**** UPDATE ****

Marko just called me from the track!!!!!

He is at Byron Dragway in Illinois right now.

He just put down a ..... are you ready for this ....

10.76 @ 129.23mph!!!!!!!

This was a hot lap with no cool down.. no changes to the car since the 10.97 pass.. He just got better traction and has perfected his launch. His 60ft was 1.65 with that pass..

He was going to put ice in the reservoir and cool the car down and go for broke on the next pass..

As he was hanging up with me he said, "This car will go 10.60s today.. you watch."..

GO FOR IT MARKO!!!!!!!

Looks like the all-time 65 record belongs to VRP & Marko.. (Sorry Lou.. Your 10.85 lasted a while..)

I'll post timeslips and video once Marko gets home and gives me the final info on his passes.

Congrats Marko, I wish I would have know you were heading to Byron, I would have stayed home and not gone to Dallas and hit the track today. Very impressive times. I just spoke to a few buddies that are back home in chicago, they said the air is cool, low 50's and no humidity, pefect racing weather.

Can't wait to hear what his best e/t of the day is.

I think the accomplishment of being the fastest non-NOS MB deserves its own thread! Congratulations again Marko.... you are an incredible enthusiast/driver and pioneer!

I can't wait to see this car run 10.5s @ MIR.

I meant I would have stayed home and hit the track (Byron) with Marko. The only track I hit here in the Dallas area is the infield of Texas Motor Speedway with my RV, I'm here to watch the Nascar Cup race.
