Let's see some Acceleration Videos

It would be cool to see how some of these torque monsters we have on the board accelerate through the RPM band.

Over on the Porsche boards we've pretty much standardized on 60mph-130mph pulls as a good indicator of how much power a car is really making and is a good way to compare performance from one car to another without actually having to get both cars in the same place to square off against one another.

Here is a short video that one of my friends shot showing a 20mph to 117mph blast. This is an E55 with the VR675 package on it. He launches hard at 22mph and covers 117mph in just under 10sec. He's averaging 9.5mph of acceleration per second which seems pretty damn fast to me.

I would be more interested in seeing vids from 140mph to 190mph cause that is where acceleration seriously slows down...

0 to 190mph in about 55 seconds (no power modifications - standard E55):

If I'm not mistaken...it's just the CLS63 instrument cluster? I could be wrong...

He was selling the cls63 iwc gauge cluster a while ago and after seeing it in the car(if this is it), he really needs to plan a trip to chicago!

I escaped my C43 dogpen forum so I know it shouldn't be here.

Here is a vid of mine 10mph-ish rolling start to about 80-ish mph on a backroad, over 100mph you catch air on the next rolling hill lol. not kidding.

This was soon after the S/C install with no other mods.

0 - ~120mph in ~11s which equates to ~10.9mph of acceleration per second

Edit: 124.57/11.091 = 11.2316...

I'm no math genius but I just crunched the numbers on this pass...does VR675 stand for 675 hp? I would assume a car with 675 hp would accelrate at a more rapid rate than 9.5mph/sec. I just crunched the numbers on my 11.13 @127.1 1/4 mile pass and if my math is correct it averaged out to 11.4mph/second rate of acceleration. I would assume I could go even faster from a 20mph roll-on. My point here is not to start any agruments or doubt anyone, but my car only makes just under 600 whp with the 70 shot of NOS.

I'm gonna grab my cam-corder and go find a long stretch of open road today and try to show you guys 20-200....stand by.

I need to get it on the scales to get an exact figure. Dyno numbers mean very little...

Jay, that car of yours just goes so effortlessly.. It doesnt even seem like the car is breaking a sweat but it gathers speed pretty quick.

I'm waiting for Marko to post an in-car video of his rocketship. Ive only ever seen it from the outside.

Yup.. Its 675hp.. The video is of Nate's car.. He did run an 11.05 @ 125mph so the car makes power, there is no question there.

Nate said the car was spinning its tires for at least 40feet and had zero traction. I guess its a bit too cold down in Tennessee..
