Anyone from S.Cali going to the mile? 90% sure I'm going. I know Jrcart is going and a few of my friends are from out of state. Travel/trailer buddy anyone?

I'm on the hunt for an F350 right now to pull my trailer.. I have a driver for the truck already.. I WANT TO GO.. will work on it today and let you know..

I have taken my baby in the 180's with plenty of throttle left. I'm a speed freak so 200+ would be a good way to start the year!

In looking at the event rules...if you are looking to go over 190mph you are required to have a four point roll hoop:

ROLL BAR/CAGE: A competition approved Roll Bar for an open vehicle (convertible) is mandatory unless your vehicle is equipped with a factory roll system. For other street classes, a Roll Bar or a 6-point cage is highly recommended. ALL CARS THAT PLAN TO ATTEMPT A SPEED RUN OVER 190MPH ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE A FOUR POINT ROLL HOOP AS MINIMUM. The material and minimums are as follows:
FOR DOM or ERW:
under 2000lbs: 1.50"x.120"
2001-3500lbs: 1.75"x.120"
Over 3500lbs: 2.00"x.120"
FOR Alloy (CM)
under 1500lbs: 1.375"x.095"
1501-2500lbs: 1.625"x.095"

Over 2500lbs: 2.000"x.095"

I would just not tell them you expect to go over 190...and if you do, well, you are already out there.

Kind of like when I go to the 1/4 mile track during a test and tune and the technical inspection guy says..."what do you think you will run?" I usually say "about 14's"

First time up I told the guy high 14's...LOL.. He said ooh yeah you don't need no helmet...

, They called me in after my first run 11.6..

It was dark and he didn't even see the model of car. All he saw was the big star emblem...

No way! Sorry, but you just called me out LOL, I have no idea about how fast my car will go and I know nothing about the Porsche, but I do know that thos 6 cylinder Turbo P cars can make upwards of 700rwhp rather easily. I am just trying to beat my previous 206mph top speed. I would have to know a lot more about his car and even then its unlikely I will do it for $10k

Nah, not calling you out. I don't have any beef with you! It was a fun offer for charity. I was even willing to donate 5k of my money out of the 10.

Smart call on the bet. It's a race with my buddy Alex (Vralexander). I think he's bringing his Supra as well as his slow CGT.

I'm super bummed, he said my car will do around 180 based on the weight and HP. Why ship a car out of state for that?

I think I might just go watch now? He said they are doing some sort of combo race before hand. It includes track, road, and 1/4 I think? I can get you info? No bet is involved....just good people and fast cars!

Alex is an awesome guy that races for charity quite often. He is also one of the funniest guys around. I knew Jim would ask questions so I was gonna come clean last night but fell asleep. Darn.....no charity money! It should be a fun race with all the cool people going.
