Talking WHO IS OFFERING THE BEST E55 SUMMER PACKAGE DEAL?

I would like to know exactly who I should speak with in regards to tuning a bone-stock 2004 E55. I live in SoCal in Temecula, I frequent OC quite often.

Also, I have spoken to Vadim at European Performance in regards to having headers, mid-pipe (secondary cats delete) and x-pipe installed next week. I would like to know if I should deal with anyone direct with Powerchips for the tune? In doing my due-diligence on the variety of competitive aftermarket companies (e.g. Renntech, Evosport, VRP, Vadim's shop, LET, etc.) that offer similar parts, who is truly offering the best "package deal" right now?

Is there a difference between Vadim's 175MM pulley and the 180 offered with VRP and Renntech...and the 182 offered from LET? Any advise would be very much appreciated !

A gentleman who drives a 2004 Z06 at Evosport (who was very nice and willing to talk) told me that anything over 172MM pulley is overkill because the car will "bleed boost" if too large of a pulley is installed---so what is too big?

Lastly, what is the quality like with the 82MM Throttle Body that Vadim is offering, and is that the same one VRP has? Does it compare in quality, performance and overall longevity to the RENNTECH one?

Thank you in advance for answering any of my questions! It is really reassuring as a "NEWBIE" that this site is here to obtain questions, products, and meet cools MB Owners--LOL

I dont know much about the west coast tuners, but LET is offering a great deal on a pulley and tune. I am happy with their products and the pulley and tune offer the best bang for your buck.

I actually have both the Renntech and FD's(Vadim) TB and both seem to be of good quality. I have Renntech's 82mm TB installed on my car right now and FD's sitting on my kitchen table in bubble wrap. I haven't fully unwrapped the various pieces yet but just by a glance things look good. Coming from manufacturing I have pretty high standards and believe the welding could be a little nicer but it's good enough and will serve the purpose(can't beat the price) . Bottom line...Renntech comes with a high price tag but it's a proven product. FD's among others just started production and time will tell of their quality and longevity, plus the price will be very affordable. If you have any specific questions in regards to this matter I'll try and answer the best I can.

BTW...the Renntech unit is plug and play and I'm not sure if that's the case with the others.

Thanks bassn for the willingness to help me out, it's cool you and other member's, like Sun are being cool enough to make sure a "Newbie" doesn't get "charged large" for very little ROI--that would be a lousy way to start my E55 project .

Sun,

Definitely have to have a round up in Socal soon!---After I get my rear diffuser, front CF lip and rear spoiler--I be looking a little like you I have the GODFATHER'S old HRE 20's on my ride, needs to be lowered, I was thinking of having HMS do it with the STAR system...what do you think? Is that the way to go, or do the adjustable links like the GODFATHER did it?

Sh!t Sun, what the hell are you talking about....slow ! If I recall you had the 3rd fastest E55 at Famoso . Just think how much faster you'll be this year! Like I said before, I'll probably have your license plate memorized at the next event . Either way I'm sure everyone will improve on their times from the last event and having a blast to boot!!!! Can't beat that, hanging with a bunch of enthusiast with fast a$$ cars .

Fer sure Chad! Serge has everything you need to lower the car without the links. He'll definitely take care of you!

im also a newbie who is trying to do his homework on modding the e55

but basically like he said ... who offers the best packages.. in regards to actual proven gains from member s who tried.. kleenman, renntech, evo sport...

or is it better to mix and match parts from the diffrent companies beacuse they each have there own special qualities in some parts....

im particually looking at evosport but havent herd much reviews as kleenman and renntech

I would Def not buy a " Package" from one tuner I would mix it up with different parts to create a custom package. Thats what Im doing.

No doubt Jerry, but you should definitely make sure you have no other issues going on before the next tune. I would hate to find out that something is wrong with your car after another tune. Please make sure and address the issue if there is one. Your car will be fast with the upcoming mods if your car is healthy.

I just talked with Travis and he's willing to make it down for a custom tune day. Sign Up and lets get it started.

As far as I know, there is nothing wrong with the car. STAR computer shows no error codes.

I might need to hit up the track again for a 2nd attempt. From reading the forum, it seems that most people are only power-braking to 1200 RPM at most.

That day, I was power braking pretty hard, so I'm sure that had a little to do with my traction issues.....

Power braking and not letting any air out your tires.... I kept trying to tell you to reduce your tire pressure to help out with traction. Maybe the next time up I'll meet up with you and we could reduce your pressure and data log every run. I think this would be a great idea, getting your car out one more time.

I'll give you a example of how one little thing could impact your cars performance. Just recently I had a baseline dyno tune before and after my 82mm TB install. After the TB install my first dyno run showed a 35 rwhp decrease . We thought possibly I had a leak that related to how the factory airbox fit the 82mm tb. We re-dynode with and without the airbox, same results. The dyno operator and I kept probing around until we finally found a loose vacuum connection in back of the TB. We just needed to tighten up a clamp on one side and add another to other side, simple fix. We dynode again and got all the power back plus some. That one little leak cost me near 45 rwhp on the upper end, I'm telling you no BS!!! Just think, one little leak. If anyone doesn't believe this I have both Jeremy and Mike at Autowave to back the story up. It was truly amazing what something like that could do. In other words check your stuff!
