? On Benz Visa using Purchases to Reduce Monthly Expenses? Your Thoughts?

Guys - I just got a application in the mail for a Mercedes Benz Visa credit card and it says that you can earn Reward Points that can be applied to monthly vehicle payments. Plus it says you can use Reward Points for Parts an Service at the M-B dealer. But there is NO tel. no to call to chat with a customer service rep to ask details!! Argh!

So any of you sign up and have one of these Benz Visa credit cards?

What are the exact details on how much you can lower your monthly vehicle payments from purchases? If it is a good deal I will sign up as I pump my Visa hard and any reduction in car payments is a sweet thing!

Thanks!
Yasin

Here is what you need to know: https://portal.rewards-catalog.com/B...ger/bac/mbvisa

and https://portal.rewards-catalog.com/B...bvisasignature

The first card is free, the second card is $90 a year but hands out more rewards. Do the mathe to see which one makes sense.

It looks like a standard 1% reward card with the bonus being extra points for dealership spending. For most people, there are better cards out there. You could use it as a card only for the dealer, but hopefully you aren't spending much there.

10,000 points

On a serious note.... $1 purchase = 1 point... $1 MBF payment = 100 point.

So pretty much... 1% cash back.... there are quite a handful cards out there that give you more than 1%. IMO, this is not worth to have if you're looking to use it for bringing your pmt. down.

Funny how I found this thread right now!

I recently was looking for a credit card that would give me greater cash back on MB car services/purchases AND everyday purchases, and found this card a few days ago. I applied for and was approved for the Mercedes-Benz Signature Visa Card.

Doing the math, I found that this card (not the non-signature card) would give me more significantly more cash back than my current primary credit card (AMEX Blue Cash after they lowered their cash back percentage), even WITH the $90 annual fee! Also, the 1% Foreign Transaction Fee (instead of the normal 2%-3%) is a nice bonus as well... along with the concierge service, and all the other "perks" you get with this card (some of which other cards offer as well, others no other cards offer).

Because everyone's usage is different, I recommend everyone that is considering to apply/switch to a different credit card to do the math and compare all cards to see which one suits your usage the best. For some people, this car will compliment their usage well. For others, there'll be other credit cards that will be better.
