*** OFFICIAL MIR Shootout Thread 12/5/09 ***

Ok so I got confirmation today from MIR that we have both lanes reserved for us from 9am to 5pm on December 5th with a December 6th rain date (just in case)

MIR (Maryland International Raceway www.mirdrag.com ) is one of the fastest tracks in the country and is very well prepped for our rentals. December is usually guaranteed negative DA and with a track elevation of only 80ft that makes for EXCELLENT racing conditions. As always, the one thing that worries me is weather *fingers crossed* If possible we would like to keep the street tire cars to one lane since they tear up the VHT very quickly. I know there will be people shooting for records!!!

I will be taking prepayments through paypal to mercedeseclass@hotmail.com to reserve your spot. It will be $100/car + whatever paypal fees there are (Its either $103 or $104 total). I will not be taking prepayments until a later date so that if anyone wants to back out I will be able to refund the full amount without paypal taking some fees out of it. I haven't decided what number to cap the event at yet.

I hope some of the west coast guys can make it out this year.

Those that have been to previous rentals know its alot of fun and a friendly environment. Please leave the drama at home and lets all have a good time!!!

EDIT: I forgot to mention MIR charges $10 for spectators for this event. That money will be collected at the gate

i would be excited if I had some numbers to put up...right now the only thing fast is the pace at which I am going backwards in performance

i got my 16" wheels. going to get the 16" MIckeys and make try to make it down there. i didnt go to the last one because i didn't have my wheel/tire setup ready to go

I'm in! Already going through drag strip withdrawal from last time!

For those of you on the fence...it's worth every bit of the $100 entry fee...you can literally run back to back all day...your car overheating, cooling down your SC, or mechanical issues would be the only thing preventing you from run after run after run...got in well over 14 runs on my first day!

Count me in. I'm going to make the drive again from NJ. Since it is a Saturday this time, I would be willing to bet I will probably be able to get a couple more SRT6's out there. Including the US M112K record holder at 10.xx

Should be a great fun.

blackbenzz, one thing I wanted to ask is if we would have the track to ourselves or be in the same situation as last weekend with the other groups there (even though it wasn't a huge issue)?

December @ MIR is definitely the time and place to break every record possible. I can't ship my car there, but I will try to make arrangements to fly out there and enjoy watching the super racers destroy existing records

Well last time he also rented to a group of SRT8's. All the rest of the cars besides the promods were with our group. This time it is exclusively rented for our group

It is $100/car. You can have as many drivers as you want though

I just spoke with Jason at MIR and he said it would be easier to just have someone collect all the cash at the gate since he is charging for spectators. So no prepayments are necessary. My first post is too old for me to edit so if a mod/admin can delete the prepayment portion of my post that would be appreciated.
