We're talking ECU. That takes a Star diagnostics reset, afaik.
I understand what you are saying,,,maybe its me that a little slow,,,but even it were a transmission TCU reset,,,how do you explain the added punch when you accelerate? My thought is that there is something that resets the adaptives and that is what's in the engine ECU.......maybe I'm wrong,,,I don't know,,,I can only tell you what I feel!

Jangy, does this actually do what resetting via Star does? Any bad side effects?

You have to synchronize all the items that are saved...windows, sunroof, and probably some others.
