Don't quote me as I'm a n00b. Your pulley is on the small size but you do have the 82mm TB. That should get you to the 500rwhp level.

Good luck and tell us how it goes!

I wouldn't focus on the HP because of the temps you guys deal with, just the gains. What kind of tune do you have right now or do you even have one?

dont have one, stock tune with slightly increased fuel ( due to it was showing CEL, low fuel pressure) and i changed the fuel pumps, but didn't returned it to normal.

we will see what gains we can get. we will try our best to cool the dyno room avoiding heat problems and we will do it late @ night maybe after midnight. because these days they are opened till 3 am ^^

You'll see huge gains if you don't have a tune!!!! 3:00am , damn, I wish we had tracks around that would stay open that late, or should I say early .

I thought OEM TB is only 80 mm and only RennTech made the 82 mm TB?

On a dyno dynamics, if you have 170 mm pulley, 80 mm TB, and a good custom tune, I would expect around 470 rwhp. If you add the 180 mm pulley + 82 mm TB + airboxes + better headers + good cooling mods, then you will likely pass the 500 rwhp mark.

OEM TB is 74mm on most 55's. 80mm TB is actually 78mm. And Renntech isnt the only one that can make 82mm TB's

if it was stock i wouldn't mention it. but i am 100% sure it is Mercedes Benz TB, but i don't know for wich car. as the tuner removed the part # ( scratched it ). i compared it to the 80mm/ 78mm and it is bigger.

i posted some pictures before of it. as it can not be installed like the stock one, it has to be slightly twisted with a spacer to fit.

i think it is for the 550 engine.

you have to check all MB TB types and Bosch TB.

it cost me more than $3000 without installation and had to switch some wires to make it work 100%

Before putting your car on the dyno to custom tune it, make sure you install your h/e. Hp gains are a lot higher on a car that runs cooler.

.

thats my plan

i wont tune it without the H/E. they already told me it will allow them to make more gains with it

so with my setup, it i possible to reach 500rwhp ?

maybe more !!

I was actually referring to the 80mm OEM TB that comes on the 2007+ SL55s.

RennTech was the only one to offer it for the past year and a half or so, but recently Vadim and others have started making them as well. I take it your making a custom one as well

With your mods, why not just go with the 180 mm pulley which has been shown to easily pass the 500 rwhp goal?

I've had one on my car for a while now and it's not from Renntech or Vadim
