Nice car... congrats!

Care to share how it lives up to your old W211 63?

Sure, I wrote up the following in the W212 a few nights ago.
Picked up the car earlier tonight!

What immediatley stuck out to me was the interior lay out and dash board with the new Nav.Very, very impressive and high quality. Has a very rich look and feel to it. The ambiance lighting around the dash and door panels was S-class like. The steering wheel is monstrous, larger than the wheel on the E63.
The seats are very comfortable and well cushioned but I have to admit the quality of leather is not like my seats in the E63, the soft nappa leather in the 63 is the best Ive seen.
I could not get used to not having the shifter in the center console, I guess in time I will get used to it.. Its cool to have the extra space though.
So after I was told about the ins and outs and how to use the Nav,Stereo and other functions, I finally put the car in D and drove off taking 1 final long stare at my E63, now gone.. Funny i felt like a father giving his daugter away for marriage,lolol.. OK back to the E550 - The ride quality is absolutley amazing, It seriously drove like an S-class in terms of ride quality and over bumps.. The 550 has great power but I didnt and cant really drop the hammer just yet, with a little over 9 miles on the odo.. The car felt very solid and planted, very good control. The suspension and tran was set on C mode, I have not tested S yet.. Another thing that really stuck out was how quiet the car is, You couldnt even tell the engine was on, buttery smoothe power train. NOthing like the ferocious power and exhaust note on the 63, which I will certainly miss at times BUT I seriously love this new car.. I didnt really get a chance to test the car, long day of work, picked it up,drove home and threw it in the garage. I will write up a better review with extra seat time.. I actually did my 1st mod also, took my flat hood badge off the 63 and had the dealer put it on the E550.See the iphone pic. I will have much better/quality pics in the coming days..

__________________________________________________ ___ The suspenions and drive on this car is absolutley remarkable. I took the following from another member.

Here's the description:

"The new E-Class is the first Mercedes-Benz model to feature a combination of AIRMATIC air suspension and an electronically controlled damping system that adapts the damper characteristics with continuously variable control – individually for each wheel. This air suspension setup is available as an option for the V6‑powered E 350 CGI BlueEFFICIENCY and E 350 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY models and for the E 350 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY 4MATIC and E 350 4MATIC models; it is fitted as standard for the E 550/E 550 4MATIC models.

A total of seven sensors monitor the driving situation and the position of the body, sending their information to an electronic control unit, which also processes information concerning road speed, steering wheel angle, braking torque and engine torque, using this data to calculate the optimum shock-absorber characteristics. The system adjusts the damping force for each wheel individually, depending on the current road conditions and driving situation. When driving normally, soft damping settings are also selected if the road surface is poor. This mode offers the E-Class occupants maximum comfort without impairing the outstanding directional stability, road adhesion or handling safety. As the driving style becomes more dynamic, the shock-absorber settings are adapted continuously and therefore meet the driver's need for enhanced agility.

The driver can pre-program the principal vehicle characteristics at the push of a button on the dashboard. There are two modes to choose from: "Comfort" or "Sport". In Sport mode, the hydraulic forces of the shock absorbers are increased so as to allow even better directional stability and road adhesion at high speeds as well as reduce understeer at speeds of up to 120 km/h."

Do the non-AMG and AMG models of the W212 have different LED strips up front?!

Yes, the AMG ones flow with the car much better. They look like they are supposed to be there, as opposed to the hockey sticks they put on the 350/550.
