Made my Carbon fiber airbox fit the 82mm TB

I know this does not go out to the masses but it can be done .. I had a 80mm Carbon fiber air intake and used a die grinder to slowly grind the diameter out to fit the 82mm TB. About 3MM had to be removed. The wall thickness is still plenty thick after the modification. I used my 82mm TB to fit test, as I took material away. After the fit was close, I came back with a sanding wheel bit and rounded/smoothed the final fit.

Took about 20 minutes and fits tighter than any stock Y pipe!!

PS, will post pictures later but short time time right now..

Here is a shot of the tools. Star wrench on the coordless to take the air box screws out (duh). Grinding bit and sanding bit to smooth out final fit. I also used some 80 grit hand sand paper to smooth rough edges. Last, used a water hose to wash out intake and then scrub dry with rag..

For the the best seal, take your rubber gasket out of the mouth of the 80mm Y pipe and reverse it. Then slide over the 82mm TB before putting the CF intake on..
