black or silver!? Help me!

I found a fully optioned 04 in black that I can get a pretty good deal on. I didn't really want to get back in a black automobile because my lightning that I have been driving for years is black and I know how hard it is to keep them clean. Im wondering if I should hold off and get silver like I was wanting to originally buy or if I should break down and get black. Can you guys help persuade me? I've owned both colors & silver is the way to go. So easy to keep clean, so easy to wax, etc etc etc.

True, there's NOTHING better looking than a clean, well detailed black car...but good luck to you (as you know) keeping it clean. Effing nightmare. Been there & done that with a few black cars, and won't do it again until I hire a full-time, live-in car detailer LOL.

Very well said and so true. I am so finicky about the appearance I would never drive the car in black as I would never have time for anything else.

I also wanted a silver or flint grey car, but stumbled upon a black one that is absolutely stunning so I bought it. Black with the right stance and the right wheels just can not be beat. Sure it is more work keeping it clean, but it will be well worth it. Good luck with your decision.

silver is a laid back color

black is a sportier color (ironic, considering silver is often used as MB racing livery)

my silver s55 would look better in black, but in silver it's a complete sleeper. Even I forget how fast it is.

as for cleaning, the previous posters are correct. I've never owned a black car, but from any distance over a few feet my silver hides everything but the absolute worst coatings of dirt and grime.

I have a black 05 E55, and of course, it's more work to keep it relatively scratch-free. I hand-wash it every week (as I did my silver E39 M5), so keeping it clean isn't an issue for me - it's the visibility of swirls and scratches. I probably need to be more uptight about the type and cleanliness of my washing mitt and drying cloths to minimize the amount of work i need to do with the orbital buffer when I do a full detail.

Be patient -- get what you really want -- You will be able to find a good deal on a silver one.
