K&N HELP!!

I just purchased two K&N air filters from AutoZone for my 05 E55. I logged on to the forum to find a DIY thread and couldn't find one. I did find a bunch of horror stories. What do you think? In your experience and professional opinion, what do you think of the K&N filters for the E55?
Would you use them on your car? Recommend them to friends?
What tips and tricks could you share regarding the filters?

Some guys are saying that we don't have MAF sensors on the E55's, is that true?

I've combed through the forums and it seems like everyone is split on the issue, some love them and others hate them. Whats the "True Hollywood Story" on the K&N filter?

Same here, picked up two from zone, reset the ecu ,no issues. There is a lot of discussion on this topic including a ton of false information and tests. I have always used them in my Porsche's, Lexus's, BMW, etc. Not for HP, I just hate shopping for filters.

I just put them on my car yesterday. Definitely can feel the car pull stronger and smoother too. It's very straight forward. Just try not to loose any of the screws (I lost 1).

Emove, hell yeah I got the diffuser! I'll post pics as soon as I install it.. As far as the filters, thank you guys for all the advice. I've read through all the forums on the issue and they leave you more confused then going into it!! Like I said, you either love them or hate them. I actually just got some info from my boy at MBZ, he says to stick with the stock ones, he says they're already free flow filters OEM. I dunno, I guess if enough people post +++ I'll run with them and find out for myself!

Looking for DIY! Also, it seems the only issues are the MAF sensors. If the E55's don't have them then what are these people reporting? If they are seeing MAF sensor fails, why are they posting on an E55 forum?

they're in the two boxes on either side of the supercharger. there are 5 or 6 torx screws on each one then the top just pops off.

Those 2 filters are inside the grey box (check out the thread below). When u take the box out flip it over you will see those screws there.

Got my E55 Yesterday!
