New BMW Record

Just thought I'd share my friend Donovans pass in his E30 at our last track rental friday. He broke the BMW record. I've noticed that all the fast BMW guys help each other and rarely fight. That's how we should be. Donovan, Mike R., Ulysses, they are all friends and great guys. I wish we would push our cars and aftermarket like they do

Now that is one fast car.... What was that noise that happened right before he launched? I thought he almost broke something.

Why is it that some Audi's and BMWs are able to reach the 9 second mark in the 1/4 mile while the quickest/fastest Mercedes is still at 10.50s?

their lightweight and our lack of dialed in tuning

Just wait until AMGSC's car gets done.

Thats 2 step on a turbo car. It allows turbo cars to launch in boost.

The reason is that the aftermarket is much bigger for them because there are many people modifying them. Built motors are just a click away, whereas for us there are only a handful of people with forged bottom ends and very little to no info out there. Another thing is tuning. Much cheaper and better than what we have available. And they have the tuners that are willing to push the envelope further and further (Donovan and Mike R. at Maximum PSI for example). The prices we pay for aftermarket parts is a joke. And it is that way because people are willing to pay it. If you strapped two turbos or one large single turbo to a built MB 5.4L V8 it will make huge power if you could get it tuned. I've always wanted to do this. Keeping all that in mind, 10.5x's in a 4500lb car with stock motor and relatively minor mods is still very impressive!
