This article applies to the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and E-Class AMG (2002-2009).

No matter where you live or how often you drive your vehicle in rain or snow, as time passes, the rubber on your windshield wipers will wear down, and you will have to replace them. It’s simply one of the necessary responsibilities of owning a car. Now, if you own a normal, everyday car, you can go with just about any wiper out there. But if you own a high-class vehicle like a Mercedes-Benz E-Class or E-Class AMG, you’ll want to ensure that the replacement wipers are of quality.

TRICO NeoForm Beam

Price – $18

Size – 26” driver / 26” passenger

Performance – Most reviewers claim to be “satisfied” with these blades.

Lifespan – 6 to 9 months

Warranty – Per the company site: "TRICO subscribes to warranty information collected by Original Equipment manufacturers, and our warranty team continuously monitors warranty trends and costs."

The NeoForm beam wiper blade by TRICO takes pride in the value-added performance of the Teflon wiper blade surface protector. This special feature ensures a smoother wipe and longer lifespan for the blade. In terms of design, the NeoForm beam blade has a memory curve steel designed to provide uniform pressure, and a dual-point coupler is included in the design of this blade to eliminate streaking. If you live in an area that does not see a lot of terrible weather, e.g. snow, ice, etc., then TRICO's NeoForm blades are a solid choice. However, if you live up north and your car is exposed to these conditions for months at a time, then you can expect the blades to last just 6 months at a time. Recommended if you're looking for normal weather blades.

Bosch ICON

Price – $22

Size – 26” driver / 26” passenger

Performance – Most reviewers claim to be “exceptionally" satisfied with these blades

Lifespan – 12 months

Warranty – No warranty

Bosch’s ICON wiper blades feature a special dual rubber compound that resists heat and ozone deterioration; this, in turn, allows the blade to remain flexible longer, even in the worst weather conditions. One of the things worth noting about these blades is their bracketless construction, which is meant to provide a more uniform pressure along the entire length of the blade, thereby eliminating streaks. They also include an asymmetrical aerodynamic wind spoiler meant to create a downforce that prevents blade lift-off and ensures reliable performance at high speeds. When it comes to performance, Bosch engineered the blades with Quiet Glide micro-finish wiping edge to provide smooth, quiet operation. These are the best blades for your buck. They are consistently rated as such on forums and websites across the Internet, both in terms of performance as well as lifespan. Pay a little extra so you don't have to worry about this part of your car; after all, who wants to have to think about replacing wiper blades all the time? Recommended if you're looking for streak-free blades that last.

Rain-X Latitude

Price – $20

Size – 26” driver / 26” passenger

Performance – Most reviewers claim to be “very" satisfied with these blades

Lifespan – 9 to 12 months

Warranty – No warranty

The Latitude blade has a contoured beam specially designed to conform to the shape of your E-Class or E-Class AMG windshield. Its unique design applies even pressure to the blade for streak-free visibility. The blade’s rubber-encased substructure is super durable which, in turn, ensures better flexibility and grip; the rubber blade itself features a specially blended graphite coating, which leads to a smooth wipe. Worth noting: the Latitude wiper blade has no exposed metal components to freeze up in the cold, which means quality windshield clearing even in ice and snow. And in terms of performance, the Latitude blade has a built-in aerodynamic spoiler for noise and wind lift reduction. Rain-X is synonymous with weather protection, and the company has done a good job at designing a blade to go up against the very worst conditions. While they don't last as long as Bosch's blades, they do last longer than a majority of blades the market, which makes the extra few dollars spent a worthwhile investment. Recommended if you're looking for durable blades with smooth rubber.

Valeo Gen2

Price – $15

Size – 26" driver / 26" passenger

Performance – Most reviewers claim to be "satisfied" with these blades

Lifespan – 6 to 9 months

Warranty – 6 months

The folks at Valeo believe that the genius behind their Gen2 beam blade is in the simplicity of their design. Their blade features a single piece of rubber and an integrated spoiler. Per the company’s site, the blade is guaranteed to offer the driver a quiet performance with no vibration due to the patented 1,500 pressure points on the blade when it moves across the windshield. For comparison purposes, a conventional blade has only 4 to 8 pressure points. In terms of lifetime expectancy, the blade’s synthetic rubber upper body is specially designed to resist deformity and perform better in extreme temperatures. While Valeo's Gen2 blades do get their fair share of mentions on forums and websites, it's mostly due to the fact that people see them as a bargain buy for wiper blades. If you're looking to save some bucks on blades, they're a good choice; however, do know that when it comes to lifetime performance, they will wear faster than the others on this list, and you will have to replace them sooner than later, regardless of the weather conditions your car is exposed to. Recommended if you're looking for decent blades without spending too much money.
