1. Spring is one of the four seasons

The four seasons are Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer. The Four Seasons is also a band that featured Frankie Valli as the lead singer, Bob Gaudio (formerly of the Royal Teens) on keyboards and tenor vocals, Tommy DeVito on lead guitar and baritone vocals, and Nick Massi on electric bass and bass vocals. Their biggest hits were “Sherry,” “Walk Like a Man,” “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” and “Candy Girl.” Their first record was “You’re the Apple of my Eye.” Granny Smith apples are green. So is this Mercedes-Benz G-Class. Did you see what I did there?

2. The first day of spring

The first day of spring is called the vernal equinox. The term vernal is Latin for “spring” and equinox is Latin for “equal night.” The movie About Last Night starred Rob Lowe and Demi Moore. Demi was married to Bruce Willis from 1987 to 2000 and together they had a daughter named Rumor Willis who is best known for winning Season 20 of Dancing with the Stars. In week six she danced to a song called “Bootylicious.” One could argue that this little green A-Class is equally bootylicious!

3. Spring cleaning

According to a Facebook study, couples are most likely to break up in the spring or two weeks before Christmas. The lowest breakup time was Christmas Day and from August through October. One couple who broke up in Spring of 2016 after ten years of marriage was Casey Affleck and actress Summer Phoenix. In 2005, Affleck turned down a part in the movie Four Brothers because he found the script to be too violent. The part eventually went to Mark Wahlberg who is starring in the upcoming feature, Transformers: The Last Knight. In that movie, Drift will be transforming into an AMG GT R like this one with a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 that puts out 577 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque.

4. On the road to the White House

The U.S. spring season is popularly interpreted to start the day after President’s Day, which is the Tuesday after the third Monday in February, and ending on the Friday before Memorial weekend. While presidents are chauffeured around in Lincoln Cosmopolitans, Conteinentals and even Cadillac Fleetwoods, what they drive on their own dime is as varied as the flower gardens around the White House. Harry Truman bought a green 1972 Chrysler Newport six months before he died. Bill Clinton sported a green 1967 Mustang Convertible before he moved into the White House, and the Obamas cruised around in a green-colored Ford Escape Hybrid. None of those Spring colored cars compares to this Mercedes W114, which was not driven by a President… ever. Unless they drove it in Europe.

5. Spring flowers bring... major depression?

While springtime brings flowers and warmer weather, it may be the worst time to be born. A large-scale study found that babies born in the spring are more likely to develop schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depression, and anorexia. This Mercedes-Benz CLS 63 AMG may be lean and mean, but it would never be considered depressed nor anorexic.

6. Groundhogs and ectoplasmic residue

According to tradition, if a groundhog does not see his shadow after emerging from his burrow on Groundhog Day (February 2), spring will come early; if he sees his shadow, winter will last for 6 more weeks. Groundhog Day was also a 1993 Harold Ramis movie starring Bill Murray and Andie MacDowell. Murray and Ramis also worked together on Stripes and Ghostbusters. In Ghostbusters, they drove the Eco-1, which was a 1959 Cadillac built by the Miller-Meteor company. While the vehicle was neither a Mercedes, nor was it green, they did battle against Slimer (aka Little Spud) who was known for his gigantic appetite and the green slime he left behind. This photo begs one to wonder if this Mercedes-Benz GL 450 was hit by Slimer’s ectoplasmic residue.

7. Spring Fever

The term “Spring Fever” refers to both psychological and physiological symptoms associated with the arrival of spring, including restlessness, daydreaming, and increased sexual appetite. While the exact cause is unclear, scientists believe that increased light, more exercise, and more bare skin influence hormone levels. Clearly spring fever also increases the appetite for all things green, like for instance this Mercedes-Benz which is going topless and showing off all its green… leaving almost nothing to the imagination.

8. Spring Break

Spring break is an annual tradition that started during the 1930s in the United States and has since caught on in other Western countries. While this one to two week break in late March, early April is a great time for families to vacation, many college students treat Spring Break as a VIP pass for getting wild and crazy on the beaches of Florida, Texas, and Mexico. According to USA Today, the top destinations for Spring Break in 2016 were Austin, Cabo San Lucas, Tampa, South Padre Island, Las Vegas, New Orleans, Miami, and Cancun.  While partying hard on Spring Break is a rite of passage, too much drinking will make you sick and turn your skin green. In fact, too much alcohol can cause low blood pressure. Low blood pressure is a factor in the “greening” of skin. Less blood in surface capillaries lessens a caucasian’s “pink” complexion. I will drink to that, and bet that this Mercedes spotted in Miami, Florida, had a little too much “Sex on the Beach” last Spring Break.

9. Spring forth and purchase

According to the National Association of Realtors, spring is the most popular season to sell and/or buy a house. Buyers are usually hesitant to move during the winter when the weather is colder and kids are in school. So, while there are lots of houses to choose from in the spring, property prices are at their highest then. Interestingly, car sales increase in the spring, but actually peak in the winter. Year-end sales are probably the most likely reason why winter cool weather buying is king, but we think it could be that those spring home buyers need something cool to drive into their brand new garages. How about something cool and green like this truckload of C63 AMG Coupes?

10. Swarming like bees

Honeybees are more likely to swarm during the spring. They swarm as a way to spin off new colonies from existing successful ones. Surprisingly, swarming honeybees are very docile and the most friendly they will ever be all year. Mercedes-Benz sales associates are a lot like honeybees. When you show up at the dealership, they swarm, and if it’s springtime, you will find they are at their friendliest. Mostly it’s because they want to sell you a Mercedes-Benz, but partly it’s because they are thrilled to get you in one and take it out for a spin. It doesn’t matter if it’s black or white, blue or green. The bottom line is that it’s a Mercedes-Benz and it looks great in any color.
