1. Mercedes-Benz 560 SL

Mercedes-Benz has produced a two-door roadster for a long time now, and many early examples are way beyond the price range of most folks these days. Enter the 560 SL of 1986-89. Sold only in the USA, Canada, Japan, and Australia (to compensate for the reduced output of the 5.0 liter V8), the 560 SL is a bit under-looked. As a result, clean examples can be scooped up all day for around (or under) the $20,000 mark. For a reasonably powerful, great looking, classic Mercedes roadster, that's a bargain.

2. Mercedes-Benz 190 E

Another 80's classic, the 190 E debuted way back in 1984. Like the regular 190, it was fitted with an M102 engine, but packed around 30% more horsepower thanks to its multi-point fuel injection. The compact sedan might be a little long in the tooth but it still commands looks wherever it goes, and the presence of many high-end features makes it a pleasure to drive. Best of all, picking up a stellar example will cost you far less than $10,000 today. Think of that as the absolute floor for these popular cars.

3. Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG

When it comes to collectible automobiles, nothing is more of a sure thing than big horsepower, limited edition performance models. And the 2008-2015 C63 AMG represents the end of an era with their snarling, naturally aspirated V8 powerplants. Now that turbos and smaller displacement engines are trending, these addictive cars are sure to leave their mark on history - and in the hearts of collectors.

4. Mercedes SL W113 'Pagoda'

The days of finding a $25,000 Pagoda are long gone, unfortunately. And even though you'll pay at least three to four times that much today for a nice one, it's still worth it. Because most experts agree that these cars haven't come close to maxing out yet. The reasons for the car's newfound popularity are obvious - fantastic and unique styling, a great ride, and an all-around pleasant driving experience. Snooze on the Pagoda, and you'll undoubtedly lose.

5. Mercedes-Benz W123

Even if the value of Mercedes' legendary W123 never goes up, you're not going to lose by buying one. Because of these (now) dirt cheap classics are some of the most well built, longest lasting vehicles ever constructed. Built back when Mercedes made cars intended to last forever, you'll have a hard time finding a reason to get rid of one once you take the plunge. And with prices as low as they are, there's really no reason not to do just that.
