Double Trouble

The Mercedes-Benz G-Class is no stranger to what Brabus is capable of. This time, the German tuner has two new entries, the Black Ops 800 and the Shadow 800. Both feature 23-inch Platinum Edition forged wheels and Brabus' Widestar widebody kit. They are differentiated by their distinctive fine leather upholstery and exclusive color schemes. The Black Ops 800 debuted at Sylt Island, North Sea in Germany while the Shadow 800 first appeared in Monaco.

Only Ten Examples

The two off-roaders are based on the current version of the Mercedes G63 AMG. They feature great performance and agile off-road capabilities. Brabus is making only 10 examples for each entry.

Extra Power

Both SUVs are powered by the Brabus-tuned 800 4-liter biturbo V8 engine that produces 789 horsepower and 737 pound-feet of torque. This is enough juice to get both off-roaders from 0 to 62 mph in a mere 4.1 seconds. Top speed stands at an impressive 149 mph.

Black Ops 800

The Black Ops is finished in black glossy paint and features minute red accents on the grille slats, wheel spokes, radiator grille struts, and logotypes that can be found on the brake calipers. The Brabus Widestar widebody kit adds 4 inches of extra width to the SUV. The overall design is now even more dynamic thanks to the new fender flares and redesigned front and rear fascias.

Special Wheels

Thanks to a partnership with Yokohama, Pirelli, and Continental; the Black Ops 800 comes with high-performance tires that are sized 305/35 R 23. The new fender flares have been built to accommodate large 11x23 forged Brabus Monoblock F "BLACK PLATINUM Special Edition" alloy wheels. These wheels feature black paint and a matching "BLACK PLATINUM" badge on the exterior flange. The front wheels have red pinstripes and red Brabus logotypes.

Black Ops Interior

Two things catch your eye as you enter into the Black Ops 800: the "BRABUS BLACK OPS 800 1 of 10" badge and the catchy fine leather that has been designed exclusively for this SUV. The interior's dark gray leather has been covered in red piping and stitching. It also features subtle black elements. You get BRABUS logos embossed all over, plenty of carbon fiber, as well as aluminum lock pins and pedals.

Performance

The entire Black Ops powertrain uses high-tech lubricants from Brabus' tech partner MOTUL. The 4-liter biturbo engine comes with dual high-performance turbochargers that deliver ultimate power in the purest form.

Thrilling Exhaust

To show off what all that performance sounds like, the Black Ops features the BRABUS stainless sport exhaust that comes with electronic sound management. Combined with dual chrome exhaust tips, the actively integrated control flap creates a sound that alternates between a growly V8 sound in Sport mode and a lighter note in the "Coming Home" mode.

Shadow 800

What makes the Shadow 800 special is the fact that it draws its inspiration from a recreational watercraft dubbed the Brabus 500 "Shadow Ops" Limited Edition "1 of 28". The Gunmetal Gray paint used on the SUV is subtle. It's mixed with a glossy black finish that can be found on the fender flares. Carbon fiber has been used extensively in items such as the wing, grille surround, wheel carriers, and the hood scoop.

Shadow 800 Interior

The Shadow 800 adds light gray colors to its black and red leather interior. Diamond quilting has been performed at the middle of each seat to showcase how far Brabus upholsterers are willing to go with comfort. The A-pillars are finished in Alcantara. Like in the Black Ops, the Shadow 800 also features a "1 of 10" label on its dashboard. Brabus logos can be found in several areas within the cabin.
