Tiny Brabus

Well-known in the Mercedes-Benz enthusiast realm, Brabus has been modifying Daimler products for decades. They've become synonymous with extra horsepower and a recognizable visual flair. And in recent years, they've decided to bring that signature Brabus tuning style to the smallest car in the Daimler portfolio, the Smart EQ ForTwo.

92R

Last year, Brabus had their first go at the tiny two-seater when they came out with the Ultimate-E. Tinkering with the throttle module and torque control systems added more power to the city car. And the tuner also modified the exterior with a wide body kit, giving it a more powerful stance. More recently, however, they introduced the Brabus 92R, which they refer to as a 'city supercar.'

Sporty For European Streets

The Brabus tune adds 10 horsepower to the stock Smart EQ ForTwo's power source, for a total of 92 ponies, hence the name. The 92R also features a wide body kit, as well as a sporty suspension. With coilovers at all four corners, the ride height decreases by around 1 inch. And the car sits on a set of staggered 16- and 17-inch 8-spoke Brabus Monoblock IX wheels.

Not For American Roads

The 92 horsepower tiny car will have a 0-60 acceleration time of 10.9 seconds. Less than staggering, sure. But keep in mind, the real-world application of these little monsters is between 5 to 30 miles per hour in the tight streets of Nice, France, not the 10-lane US freeways. The top speed is also limited to 81 miles per hour!

Brabus Interior

On the inside, Brabus have left their mark, as they usually do, with custom upholstery and trim. The famous red quilted leather makes an appearance here as well, with Brabus logos embroidered in the headrests. The sporty touches around the interior help match the emotion of the car's aggressive exterior, with the blacked-out wheels and angry front fascia, as well as the rest of the body kit.

Not So 'Super' Car

It's debatable whether the phrase 'super car' can be used in association with this little beast. But there's no doubt that the Brabus product will be making its way through European streets faster than the world's most expensive exotics. Not many of us Americans will be too sad to know the Smart EQ ForTwo won't be sold here, but for the European enthusiast, the Brabus 92R will have a €46,284 starting MSRP, and production is limited to 50 units only.
