German Tuner Posaidon's S63 AMG Cranks Out 927 HP

Formidable Upgrades

German tuner Posaidon has been cranking out ultra-powerful versions of Mercedes vehicles for some time now, enhancing the automaker's lineup with some impressive kit. The latest of which address the last-gen Mercedes-AMG S63 with a variety of performance upgrades designed to make the big, luxurious sedan a formidable machine in that department as well.

Stay Subtle

Unlike a lot of tuners out there in the world, Posaidon didn't go hog wild with some audacious body kit for the S63, opting to simply install an electronic lowering module for the factory air suspension. The real star of the show lies under the hood, and Posaidon offers varying levels of performance in that regard.

Stage One

First up, Posaidon offers its RS 830 package for the S63's stock twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8, which includes upgraded turbos, downpipes, a sport cat, free-flowing air filter, and a tune, which increases output to 818 horsepower and 811 pound-feet of torque.

Step Up

Those that crave a little bit more can get it from the RS 830+ package, which ups the ante to 868 horsepower and 885 pound-feet of torque. According to Posaidon, this results in some impressive performance figures - a 0-62 mph time of 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 218 mph.

Top Dog

Finally, we have the top dog version of the RS 830+ package, which adds a few additional upgrades including methanol injection, reworked cylinder heads, and beefier valve seats, which results in an impressive 927 horsepower and 944 pound-feet of torque. No word on performance from this package, but we imagine that it's capable of sub-3-second 0-60 blasts.

Simple Software

Those that don't want to mess with their factory S63 engine components can also purchase an ECU tune from Posaidon, which is no slouch in its own regard. This simple change increases output to 697 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque, up from the factory ratings of 612 hp and 664 pound-feet.
