Mercedes coupe values and all-terrain virtues

If you are a Mercedes-Benz follower, but require something with dirt road ability and more presence than a C-Class, the GLC coupe is for you. Think of it as a C-Class with not only more ground clearance, but also a sense of coupe SUV style to its shape, thanks to that sloping roofline.

Sloping roofline into steeper tailgate

The GLC coupe has been mildly refreshed for the 2020 model year. Around the rear, these upgrades include a new diffuser, reshaped bumper, and different taillight design. This is also the angle which best illustrates the GLC coupe's sloping roof profile, which is 1.7-inches lower than the more conventional GLC SUV.

Big star in the middle, instead of on top

For aerodynamic purposes, the GLC coupe, like many contemporary Mercedes-Benz vehicles, does not wear a traditional three-pointed star hood ornament. The famous Stuttgart automotive brand's badging sits in the middle of its stylized grille, instead, flanked by a new headlamp design for the 2020 model year.

Rolling over any terrain

Don't imagine that the GLC coupe's more daring design makes it any less capable off-road. Featuring 7.1-inches of ground clearance, it can take you most places you'd want to go - even if those locations are at the end of an unmarked route. The 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system also ensures excellent all-terrain traction, in any weather.

Style or space?

The GLC coupe unquestionably has a terrific presence, thanks to its revised proportions and that sloping roofline. But what is the sacrifice in terms of practicality, compared to a conventional GLC SUV? Not much, actually. The difference in luggage capacity is only 1.7 cubic feet.

Dual-tone cabin details

How did Mercedes-Benz's designers repeat the GLC coupe's exterior styling flair on the inside? Simple, dual-tone color management. By offering the option of ivory-hued seat and door panel inserts, which contrast with the rest of the cabin's black finish, the GLC coupe adds a touch of distinction to its interior environment.

Dependable four-cylinder power with a bit more intensity

Mercedes-Benz's default engine option for the new GLC coupe is an enhanced version of the company's 2-liter turbocharged four-cylinder. Slight efficiency gains within the combustion process have improved performance, with the engine now boasting 255hp, supported by 273 lb-ft of torque. This latest iteration of the 2-liter engine now makes 14hp more in the GLC coupe application, than was previously the case.

A sharper steering GLC - this coupe

Stylish in appearance and superb to drive on any terrain. The GLC coupe can be configured with Mercedes-Benz's renowned air-suspension system, which improves both ride quality and mid-corner poise. One of the most interesting detail changes between the GLC coupe and its long-roof SUV sibling is that the coupe has slightly sharper calibration applied to its electric steering system.
