Mercedes E-Class Limo Has A Pair of Massive Turbos and Goes Sideways!
Once designed to quietly transport VIPs, this heavily modified E-Class limo now runs a twin-turbo Corvette V8 and competes in outrageous winter racing events.
From Chauffeur Duty To Chaos
The project started with a mid-2000s Mercedes-Benz E-Class limousine, a vehicle originally intended to carry celebrities, executives, or prom attendees in comfort. Its original role emphasized smooth cruising and discreet luxury. That identity has since been completely reversed. Today, the stretched sedan exists primarily as a high-horsepower spectacle designed for drifting, drag racing, and drawing crowds rather than quietly delivering passengers.
A Radical Engine Swap
The factory powertrain is long gone. In its place sits a twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter Corvette V8, a setup capable of producing roughly 1,022 horsepower. This swap transformed the limousine from a mild luxury car into something closer to a purpose-built race machine. The engine is paired with an aggressive forced-induction setup designed to deliver massive power output and dramatic visual impact.
Turbochargers You Can’t Miss
The most eye-catching part of the build is the pair of enormous turbochargers mounted high enough to protrude through the hood. According to the builder, the units are so large they are “bigger than your face,” and their placement makes them impossible to ignore. Exhaust outlets also exit through the hood, occasionally producing flames under load, which adds to the car’s theatrical appearance when it’s pushed hard.
Built In Just Four Months
Despite the scale of the modifications, the car was assembled under an intense deadline. The builder, automotive content creator Backfire Brad, and his team completed the project in roughly four months so the vehicle could appear at the SEMA Show in 2025. The compressed timeline means the limo is still considered a work in progress, although the mechanical package already appears capable of handling its extreme output.
A Drift Limo With Serious Hardware
The exterior reinforces the car’s wild purpose. Bright yellow paint, large “Drift Limo” graphics, and an oversized rear wing give the stretched sedan a race-car aesthetic that contrasts sharply with its limousine origins. While the wing theoretically helps with stability, much of the car’s character comes from its sheer absurdity, a luxury limo transformed into a drifting performance build.
Racing Up An Icy Mountain
One of the most unusual appearances for the car came at Ice King Battle, an event organized by the German automotive group RD48. Instead of a traditional drag strip, the competition takes place on snow and ice, sending vehicles racing uphill on a steep ski slope. The concept combines drag racing with extreme winter conditions, and the 1,000-horsepower limo proved capable of attacking the course while sliding and spinning its studded tires.
A Celebrity Oddity In Car Culture
Within certain automotive circles, the drift limo has already developed a reputation as a memorable oddball project. Its unlikely platform, enormous power output, and chaotic personality make it stand out even in environments filled with custom builds. While many limousine conversions focus on luxury or novelty, this one leans fully into performance excess.
A Limousine With A Completely New Purpose
The finished machine bears little resemblance to the vehicle it once was. Instead of quiet arrivals at premieres or formal events, the stretched Mercedes now spends its time burning fuel, drifting, and entertaining crowds. It may not be the most practical project car ever built, but it demonstrates how far enthusiasts will push unconventional platforms in the pursuit of something memorable.
