WTB: Winter tire package
If I dont sell my car within a week, I need to buy winter tires, anyone has one for sale? preferrably with the rims as well.

Not sure about the rim thing...but you can get a good deal on a 19" snow tire from tire rack right now...

i just picked up blizzaks 265/35/19 for $128/ea...

...not sure which year SL you have so that might make a difference.

can't help you with the rim part though.

that's a really good deal, but arent the winter tires come all the same sizes for all 4 wheels, unlike the summer ones that have the back 285 and front 255?

I have exactly the same size rims and everything like the stock ones that come with my 2005 SL500 non-amg. those 5 spoke ones.

For the non-AMG SL cars, you may use different sizes in the winter. At least in Germany......

I personnaly use 255/40R18 and 285/35R18 Dunlop WinterSport 3D for the winter.

For my SRT6 I ran 225/40/18 all around last year in really bad Chicago winters...this year I am running almost stock sizes 225/40/18 (stock) and 265/35/19 (255 is stock) for the milder New Jersey winter...

I have been told to run snows all the way around, but I am just running all seasons up front (with a large amount of original tread left on them) and brand new snow tires in the back...I am not dumb and don't go crazy in the snow/ice...I was fine last year in Chicago...hoping for the same this year.

I kept the stock 18 inch rims for the SL for winter. They are 18" like you have for the SL500. Blizzacks are available in the 255/40 and 285/35 R18 size and are an excellent snow and ice tire from previous experience. I have them (all four) mounted and ready to go on in the next few weeks. Just remember not to exceed 130mph or whatever the exact speed rating is. It is lower than the stock tires. If you want to go faster than that in the winter, well I wish you a happy burial.

can you send me an exact link?

do you think it will be okay if I will de-attach my summer tires and put those winter tires and balance them? and then do the same in reverse when it gets warmer?

lol why 130mph? what happens then?

It just costs a little time and money but there is no reason not to remove your summer tires and mount the winters. I put on Blizzack LM60's in 255/40 R18 and 275/35 R18. They are H rated which means they are meant for a maximum of 130mph. Above that speed continuously could result in tire failure. Stock tires are usually Z rated (149mph+) or (Y) rated which is (186 mph+). The Blizzacks are a true winter tire not an all season. There are other tires available in these sizes but supply is usually limited so if you wait you may not get them.

I have a set of Michelin Pilot all seasons (not trully snows but depend where you are in terms of what you catagorize as "winter tires") on SL65 replica's for sale......about 1000miles on them and are mint......$2200 plus shipping.......

275/35R18 DUNLOP SP WINTER SPORT 99V EXTRA LOAD SNOW/WINTER BLACKWALL TIRES

255/40R18 DUNLOP SP WINTER SPORT 95V SNOW/WINTER BLACKWALL TIRES

can someone help and tell me if will they fit my standard 18inch SL500 rims? I mean I have brabus 18 inch but they are the same size as the stock rims.

As far as I understood, you can put 255 to 285 on the 9,5x18.

I would check by your MB-dealer however.

my dealer is stupid, he just says whatever is tire size you have right now we cant recommend anything else...

I have currently

255/40/18 with 8.5 in front

285/35/18 with 9.5 in back

does anyone know if some winter tires on ebay with sizes

255/40/18
275/35/18 will fit my genuine 2-piece Brabus Monoblock VI wheels?

cecwheels.com website says these rims are 8.5x18", 9.5x18"
