Materials Needed

  • 10mm socket
  • Ratchet and extension
  • Replacement bulb(s)

Step 1 – Detach the vacuum tube

Open the hood, and look to the corner of the engine bay directly behind the driver's side headlight assembly. The vacuum tube support bracket is located to the right of the SBC (Sensotronic Brake Control) system. Use a 10mm socket, extension, and ratchet to remove the two bracket bolts. Move the vacuum aside to gain access to the low beam bulb.

Step 2 – Remove the headlight housing cap

With the vacuum unit pulled aside, look directly behind the headlight housing unit. The space is tight, so you may need to reach in with your hand to find its location. Feel for a round cap with a groove straight down its center. Rotate the cap until you feel it unlatch from the housing, and pull it straight out.

Step 3 – Remove and replace the bulb

Once the cap has been removed, the headlight bulb can be easily accessed. Follow the headlight bulb's wire harness to the bulb socket. Rotate the socket counterclockwise, and pull it straight out from the housing unit. Once the socket is removed, rotate the bulb counterclockwise and remove it. To install a new bulb, plug it into the socket and rotate the bulb clockwise.
